Sears installs computerized cash registers and point-of-sale equipment.

Sears moves into its new headquarters, the Sears Tower, the world's tallest building.

Arthur Wood (no relation to former chairman Gen. Robert Wood) is named chairman.

Pong ushers in an era of videogames.  Sears becomes the exclusive supplier of Pong.

Sears slogan becomes "Where America shops."

Edward Telling is named chairman.
