Q. I remember having an unusual toy as a child. It was basically two pedals attached to wheels—almost a cross between a skateboard and a bicycle. This was sometime around 1970. Did this item really exist, or did I just make it up?

A. We did find a toy like the one you describe on page 745 of the spring 1968 Chicago edition catalog. It was called “Skat-Skoota, the go-go treadmill.”
