Q. My friend says that Sears once sold groceries in the catalogs. Could you please settle a long-standing argument and tell me if this is true or not?
A. Sears did indeed sell groceries through a special catalog at one time. The Sears Archives has grocery catalogs as early as 1906 through the 1920s. Sears continued to sell limited grocery items through the general merchandise catalogs until 1941.
