Q. I am restoring a Sears Piaggio motor scooter, model no. 788.94370. My title lists this as a 1967 model. Can you verify that Sears sold this model in 1967?
A. Piaggio began manufacturing scooters for Sears in 1952, but we do not have records for every year they manufactured scooters for Sears. The general merchandise catalogs did not always list Piaggio as the manufacturer in its ads. We did find a scooter similar to Piaggio scooters, with a catalog number similar to your model number—R28A9437A on page 818 of the spring/summer 1967 Chicago edition catalog.
