Q. I have a car sold by Sears in 1952. Could you tell me how long Sears sold these cars, how much they cost, and how much they are worth today?
A. In November 1951, Sears unveiled its last (though not its first) venture into automobile retailing with the "Allstate." The Kaiser-Frazer Corporation manufactured the Allstate based on its existing "Standard" model with a few minor differences. The Allstate was offered in Standard and Deluxe models, both of which carried Sears' overall satisfaction guarantee. The Standard sold for $1,395, and the Deluxe retailed for slightly more at $1,796. The car was withdrawn from the market in the fall of 1953. For current car values, we suggest you contact a qualified local appraiser.
