Q. I recently purchased a Kenmore washer with a Visimatic wringer at a garage sale. I think it is from the mid-1950s. Can you tell me the original purchase price and any other information you have on this washer?
A. On page 944 in the fall 1954 Chicago edition catalog, there are two Kenmore washers listed, one for $149.95 and one for $129.95. If you read the catalog listings and compare the available features with the machine you purchased, you may be able to determine which machine is most similar to yours.
