Q. I own a Kenmore sewing machine, model no. 117.552, and a cabinet, model no. 556.3273. I believe the two pieces date from the 1940s. I am interested in anything you can tell me about this machine.
A. After researching the general catalogs, we found that your machine was sold from the fall 1949 to the fall 1954 catalogs. It is actually a Model 55 Rotary sewing machine. We have attached an image of the machine from page 899 of the fall 1954 Chicago edition catalog. We were not able to identify the cabinet positively from the catalog numbers.
