Q. We recently suffered a power surge in our home that destroyed our refrigerator, a Coldspot, model no. 106.7629441, serial no. E33621097. Our electric company asked for the original cost and the model year of this refrigerator. Can you help us with this information? A. Unfortunately, Sears catalogs, our best source of product information, did not use model or serial numbers—the catalogs had a unique numbering system. However, we can tell you that Sears stopped using the Coldspot name in 1977.
