Q. My father still talks about some sort of "Indian sneakers" he remembers wanting from the Sears catalog when he was a kid. This would have been sometime in the 1930s or so. Do you have any idea what he is talking about?
A. Page 263 of Sears' spring 1934 Chicago edition catalog advertised the "New Mohican, Chief of the Playgrounds" sneaker or gym-type shoes.
