Q. I want to re-create a 1940s-style outfit to wear swing dancing. Do you have any images of fashions from that era?

A. Yes, we have a complete collection of catalogs from the 1940s. See page 37 of the spring 1942 Chicago edition catalog or page 22 of the spring 1941 Chicago edition catalog for good examples. You may also want to look for the book Everyday Fashions of the Forties, by Joanne Olian.
